We went to Toms River to visit my family who was visiting from Chile. My almost-three-year-old niece, who was born in Virginia but has grown up in Chile, was there. We don't get to see her as often as we would like. We went to Dario's Pizza and ordered two large pies, the crust and toppings were perfect and delicious. "We had to have a serious conversation about pizza!" I told her, as part of her New Jersey heritage she must know that we're eating real pizza, New Jersey pizza and to know all other pizza is crap. (some exceptions apply) She also ate her first cannoli! Her parents lived in Rome for four years before she was born, so she missed that opportunity for some good Italian food.
We walked around her Bubbie's neighborhood. I helped her climb a tree and she wouldn't come down, her mom said this would happen. We found some grasshoppers and she held one. Picked berries and squished them. Overall a good day.
